Trump Is Right to Clean House: Why His DOJ Purge Makes Sense
President Donald Trump’s recent tweet to fire all remaining “Biden Era” U.S. Attorneys has sparked a heated debate. His tweet declared that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been politicized and must be restored to fairness.
While critics decry this move as authoritarian overreach, a closer look at the situation reveals that Trump is justified in taking these actions to bring real justice back to the DOJ.
The Need for a Reset in the DOJ
Every administration replaces U.S. Attorneys—it’s a standard practice. However, what makes Trump’s move particularly necessary is the corruption and weaponization of the DOJ under the previous administration.
Over the past four years, we’ve seen a Justice Department that has aggressively pursued Trump, his allies, and conservative voices while giving a free pass to those on the left. From the FBI’s controversial handling of Trump’s classified documents case to the soft treatment of Hunter Biden’s legal troubles, it’s clear that political bias has infected the DOJ.
Under Biden, career prosecutors targeted individuals connected to Trump while seemingly ignoring potential legal violations committed by Democrats. This double standard erodes public trust in law enforcement. By terminating these attorneys, Trump is not engaging in corruption—he is removing corruption.
Politicized Prosecutions Must End
Notorious PJB, a vocal Trump critic, in the tweet argues that the real issue isn’t replacing political appointees but purging career prosecutors. However, it’s precisely these career bureaucrats who have turned the DOJ into a political weapon.
The people being let go include those who worked on politically charged cases against Trump’s allies, as well as those involved in the prosecutions of January 6th protesters. These prosecutors were not merely following the law—they were making selective legal decisions based on politics.
For instance, while the DOJ aggressively pursued Trump supporters involved in the Capitol protests, the same zeal was absent when it came to prosecuting left-wing rioters who caused destruction in cities across the country during the summer of 2020.
This clear bias suggests that Trump is correct in asserting the need to “clean house.” The DOJ must serve all Americans, not just one political faction.
A Move Toward True Justice, Not Authoritarianism
PJB claims that Trump wants a DOJ loyal to him rather than the law. This is a misrepresentation of what’s actually happening. Trump isn’t asking prosecutors to protect him—he’s demanding fairness. The real problem is that under the Biden administration, the DOJ acted as a partisan attack machine rather than an impartial arbiter of justice.
Ensuring that the DOJ is filled with individuals who will apply the law equally, rather than selectively prosecuting based on political affiliation, is not an abuse of power—it’s a necessary reform.
If the DOJ were truly impartial, there would be no need for such drastic action. The fact that career prosecutors are being let go should serve as an indictment of their conduct, not of Trump’s decision.
What’s Best for America?
The bottom line is this: America benefits when the justice system is fair and free from political bias. Trump’s decision to replace DOJ officials who have shown clear political motives is a step toward restoring confidence in our institutions.
If we are to have a true “Golden Age” in America, it must begin with a justice system that works for everyone, not just for those in power.
Critics of Trump’s move must ask themselves: Is a politically motivated DOJ truly what’s best for the country? If the answer is no, then Trump’s actions are not only justified but essential.
