When you stroll along the golden sands of Malpe Beach in Karnataka, one place will surely catch your eye. It is Fisherman’s Bay Beach Café.
During our impromptu visit in May 2025, we discovered this spot. I am here to share why it is worth a stop. There is one irresistible reason: chilled beer paired with a stunning beach view.

Our trip to Malpe Beach was completely unplanned—no bookings, no recommendations, just a spontaneous drive to the coast.
After a long journey and a short walk from the parking lot to the beach, we were ready to relax. That’s when we stumbled upon Fisherman’s Bay Beach Café, right opposite the shimmering waters of Malpe Beach.
The sight of guests enjoying the first-floor seating, with the ocean breeze flowing in, was enough to draw us in.
We settled on the first floor, which offered a panoramic view of the beach. The open walls created a breezy, laid-back vibe, perfect for a hot summer afternoon.
We wanted to relax with a chilled beer. Fisherman’s Bay delivered with a refreshing Budweiser Magnum. It was served alongside a plate of fish fry. The service was quick, and with the restaurant being relatively uncrowded, we didn’t have to wait long for our order.

Sipping a cold drink while gazing at the waves is a special moment. It makes a trip memorable. The cafe’s location is directly facing the beach. This makes it an ideal spot for families. Couples alike can soak in the coastal charm.
This alone is enough to make me want to return the next time I’m at Malpe Beach. Hot summer day, chilled beer, and a sea view? It’s a deadly combination!
The Food and Ambiance
We ordered the fish fry, which, to be honest, was average. Priced at Rs. 500 per plate, it felt steep for a coastal region where seafood is abundant.
We didn’t explore other items on the menu. So, I can’t comment on the full range of offerings. Yet, the fish fry didn’t quite live up to the price tag.
If you’re here for the food, you might want to temper your expectations. You also try other dishes to see if they fare better.
The ambiance was good. The first-floor seating area appeared like a makeshift structure. Nevertheless, it was open and airy. This allowed guests to fully enjoy the beach view.
The service was decent. The restrooms, located on the ground floor, were clean and well-maintained. This is a small but important detail for any traveler.
Is Fisherman’s Bay Beach Cafe Worth It?
If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves sipping chilled beer, you will love Fisherman’s Bay Beach Café. You can also munch on seafood and soak in the beauty of Malpe Beach there.
The relaxed vibe and prime location make it a fantastic spot to unwind. Yet, if you’re a budget traveler, you might want to consider alternatives. Right next to Fisherman’s Bay is Chandresh Fish Fry Mane Oota, a more economical eatery.
